Error en Eclipse al intentar instalar plugins en DEBIAN AMD64/Error No 29 al arrancar google Earth en Debian AMD64

Si surgiera un error al tratar de instalar Subclipse a través de Help>Software Updates > Find and Install > Search for new features to install del tipo:

Network connection problems encountered during search.
Unable to access "http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.4.x".
Unable to access site: "http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.4.x" [subclipse.tigris.org]
Unable to access site: "http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.4.x" [subclipse.tigris.org]

o si cuando abris el GoogleEarth te aparece un error del tipo:

Google Earth detected an error while trying to authenticate
Please check the following:
- your network connection (can you get to www.google.com?)
- your firewall settings (are you blocking /home/matt/google-earth-bin?)

es porque hace falta instalar la librería lib32nss-mdns con

apt-get install lib32nss-mdns

Esto se aplica a Debian AMD64 y derivados
